Ashtanga yoga, also known as Ashtanga vinyasa yoga as established and classified by noted Indian yoga master Sri K. Pattabhi Jois at 1948 is a yoga style with its practice composed of specific posture sets in sequential order.
During the transition from posture to posture, it is linked with breath and vinyasa flow.
With prescribed posture sets and proper breath control, along with the help of body locks and concentrating gazing point, the energy flow is properly channeled throughout the whole body while vinyasa creates heat and enhances internal cleansing. This class requires students with yoga experiences and basic understanding of asana and alignment.
